As the largest privately held timber holding in the State of Iowa, the Amana Forestry Department works with the Iowa DNR forestry division, Iowa State University, and other forestry organization, to professionally manage the forest resources for the benefit of the company, and to further the knowledge of sound forestry practices within the state. Lumber products are harvested from within the 7,000 acres of timber using a small sawmill and kiln dried in Amana. The lumber is supplied to the Amana Furniture Shop and sold to craftsman around the area. Products include quarter sawn white oak and spalted maple.
Amana Forestry is recognized as a Tree Farm with wood products from our forest resource certified as “green”.
